The Iron Men Ministry at Steadfast Baptist Church — Detroit is a bold, intentional brotherhood forged in Christ. This ministry is not about casual conversation or surface-level fellowship; it’s about spiritual formation, mutual accountability, and practical action to advance the Kingdom of God.

Why we gather

• We believe men need one another. Proverbs 27:17 reminds us that “as iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Here, sharpening means more than encouragement — it means correction, challenge, prayerful confrontation, and sacrificial support so each man grows in integrity, faith, leadership, and godliness.

• Our purpose is to produce men who lead well: in their families, workplaces, churches, and communities. We aim to raise up men who model Christlike character for the generations that follow.

What we do

• Monthly Meetings: Focused, Scripture-centered gatherings that include Bible study, testimony, practical teaching on topics like spiritual disciplines, marriage and fatherhood, workplace witness, and personal holiness, followed by small groups for honest conversation and accountability.

• Annual Events: Robust retreats and conferences that combine intense teaching, extended prayer, targeted discipleship tracks, and structured opportunities for service and team-building.

• Outings & Service Projects: Regularly scheduled activities — from hosting community cleanups and mentoring youth to partnering with SBC ministries for outreach — so our faith is lived out and visibly impacts Detroit.

• Church-wide Participation: We plan and support events for the entire Steadfast body, bringing men alongside other ministries to serve, lead worship, and share the Gospel.

Who should come

• Any man. Age, race, past failures, or current faith doubts are not disqualifiers. Whether you’re a seasoned believer, a new follower, or searching for truth, you’re invited to step into the forge.
